Ceramics for Charity

Having lost both my Grandma and Grandpa to Dementia, I created a collection of ceramics to raise money and awareness for Dementia.

I now strive to raise awareness of what life is like for those living with Dementia and how it has affected our family. For our first live streamed charity event, we raised over £200 from this collection.

Wear your forget-me-not with pride.

Before my Nan and Grandpa were diagnosed I didn’t know much about Dementia and how it affects the brain. For some their personality would completely change, this is what happened to my Grandpa, he would find it hard to communicate with us. But when we got that smile, we knew he was still there.

A fact that shocked me, was that there are over 100 different types of Dementia that affects memory and thinking. Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common type of Dementia, which is caused by the abnormal build up of proteins in the brain. This is one of the types of Dementia that both my Nan and Grandpa were diagnosed with.
