My Journey

Hey I’m Studio Annie, I am a full time ceramicist and Twitch Streamer. I made the decision this year to go full time with my pottery business and live stream my whole journey.

My pottery journey started by applying for a beginners course near me. I fell in love with hand-building so decided to take more lessons. I bought my first bag of mix clay and sculpted my first mini vase inspired by oyster shells. I then took a formal course at a college and created my favourite piece, using a stoneware base, porcelain slip, decorated with oxides and a deep blue glaze. 2 years of doing small batch pottery at home, and learning more techniques at the college. I knew I wanted to go full time with it

Growing up I would spend a lot of my time walking along the beach on holiday. Collecting shells and building a little collection of treasures I found.

I’ve lived by the coast now for almost 3 years and I still find a new shell or treasure from the sea. Shells tell you so much about the crustaceans life, the journey they took to end up on our beach. Every shell is unique and I want to capture their life through my pieces
